Shared Art Studio | Ceramics, Sculpture
I’m looking for a new studio mate to share my Bushwick studio, located on Johnson Avenue near the Jefferson L stop. I’ve worked here for ten years, and my previous studio mate is moving out after sharing the space with me for five years.
– Space: 625 sq. ft. (25′ × 25′) in a building with ten other studios. You’d have approximately half the space, I’m open to adjusting the layout and rent if a different division works better for us.
– Rent: $1,150/month, +/- depending on how we divide the studio. Internet is included, gas and electric billed monthly.
– Equipment: Slab roller, chop saw, band saw, shared 5′ × 8′ worktable. There’s currently a medium-sized Skutt kiln, which will be leaving with my studio mate. I’m interested in sharing the space with a ceramicist and plan to purchase another kiln.
– Building: Second floor with a freight elevator, keypad entry, and onsite dumpster. Oriental Lumber is nearby, and the Maspeth Home Depot is a short drive/bike away.
I work primarily with clay, stone, cement, and other building materials. I have a museum day job and am usually in the studio on evenings and weekends.
Artists working in any medium are welcome. There is some dust from my work, so the space is best suited to someone comfortable with an active sculpture studio. I’m looking for someone communicative and considerate about shared tools, cleanup, and space.
Please email to get in touch with a little about your practice and how you’d use the studio.
