Art Studio Sublet in Sunset Park (October 1-April 30)

Looking for a subletter to rent my studio from October 1 to April 30 (possible flexibility to extend) as I am away on an arts residency. The space is in an old building with original wood beams. It is about 400 square feet with 20 foot tall ceilings, a skylight, and private garden. There is a portable heater for the winter months and a standing AC if needed. I have never had problems with being too cold or hot in the studio.

To get water or go to the bathroom, there are multiple sinks and stalls in the basement below. Electricity and Wifi are covered by the building owner.

The studio is a few blocks from the 36 St N, R, and D train. About 25 minutes to lower Manhattan.

The studio is in a larger 900 sq ft space that is divided in half. There is a wall that divides the space with my studio on one side and another tenant’s on the other. It feels private but you will hear them working sometimes since the wall doesn’t go to the ceilings. You also have to walk through their space to get to my studio.

Please note that I will paint the walls before the sublease period starts. If you get some paint on the floors or wall, that is fine. I just would expect the walls to be repainted by the end of the sublease. Additionally, the paintings, seen in the storage rack will remain there during the sublease.

First month’s rent and a $900 security deposit is required to begin the sublease. The security deposit will be returned at the end of the sublease if no major damages occur.
