Art Studio in Gowanus

Available for occupancy June 1, a 12′ x 15′ private studio in a shared space. We are primarily painters but activities that avoid toxic fumes or excessive noise are acceptable.

There are two other studios in this large room (note the partition/walls), but due to staggered schedules it never feels too busy or crowded. This particular space features built-in wall shelving and loft storage. The walls have actually been repainted since the photos were taken. There is heat during the winter and air conditioning during the summer, but due to a concrete floor, the temperature doesn’t really get too extreme either way. Wifi and general liability insurance is also included in the rent.

We’ve been in this building for over 10 years and in this unit for over 3 years so we can honestly say it’s a great place to work! There is 24/7 access. The facilities including the bathrooms and slop sink are well maintained. We are up on the second floor, so flooding is not an issue–very reassuring so close to the Gowanus Canal. There is a very active art community in the neighborhood, a huge Artists & Craftsmen store on 2nd St., and everything you need to bring your work to life.
